Larry Klane brings broad leadership experience in financial services across an array of wholesale and retail businesses around the world. He has developed and executed transformative business strategies with a focus on delivering tangible results. Prior to co-founding Pivot Investment Partners, Larry was the Global Financial Institutions Group Leader for Cerberus Capital Management. In this capacity, Larry worked to maximize the value of the firm’s financial services activities, including new transactions as well as the existing portfolio of companies. He served on Board of Directors of Aozora Bank, a publicly-traded bank in Japan in which Cerberus held a controlling interest.
Larry joined Cerberus after serving as the Chairman and CEO of Korea Exchange Bank, a leading Korean commercial and retail bank of approximately $100 billion of assets with an international presence. He led the bank through the global financial crisis to the landmark sale by the Bank’s majority private equity shareholder—the largest transaction in Korean banking history. Prior to leading Korea Exchange Bank, Larry served as President of the Global Financial Services division of Capital One Financial Corporation. Larry joined Capital One in 2000 to help lead the company’s transformation to a diversified financial services business. His responsibilities during his tenure at Capital One included a broad range of consumer and business finance activities in the United States, Europe and Canada. He also oversaw all merger and acquisition activities.
Prior to Capital One, Larry was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank and ran the Corporate Trust and Agency Services business acquired from Bankers Trust. Earlier in his career, Larry spent a decade in a variety of US and overseas consulting and strategy roles.
Larry received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard College. In 2007, he was nominated by the President of the United States to sit on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
